Game Locks Up During Sim

I am in the year 1966 or a dynasty that I started in 1901 and I am having a problem that I think is catastrophic. I am trying to simulate through the next week and when I try the game locks up. I hit the "Auto-Play" until next week button last night at 9PM and went to check on it this morning at 7AM and it was on the standings screen with Simulating... at the top. I checked the Task Manager and it said that OOTP was running, what can I do? The good news is that I finally backed-up this dynasty and have re-loaded it already in case I have to trash the original, please help me! I have installed the latest patch and have been running OOTP on my computer for years so I know that isn't the problem.

Well, have you been running universes that are this large in size? With 65 years of history, you might have some gigantic file sizes depending upon your settings. How many leagues and teams do you have? How much RAM does your computer have?

If your league has locked up for hours when trying to sim one week, you probably have to close the game.
