Game crashes after patching to 9.2
1. What, specifically, were you doing when the problem occurred? Include the specific screen you were on when the problem occurred.
After downloading and installing the full install (220mb) for patch 6 or 9.2, game crashes with "OOTP9 has encountered a problem". Restart exe and get the message that crash flag is set and graphics reset to default, but still crashes with same error. Uninstalled and reinstalled...same error. 2. What happened? Was there an error message? If so, what was the specific message? Game crashes, never loads. GAme worked fine on 9.1.6. 3. Were you able to repeat the error with this same game? With another game? If so, what steps did you take? repeatable...everytime I try to run ootp9.exe 4. If relevant, what do you think the program should have done? Um, load and run the game? ![]() 5. What is your league configuration (fictional/historical, etc.) Fictional league that was orig created back in OOTP2007 and converted to OOTP8 and subsequently OOTP9 successfully. GAme was running fine on verion 9.1.6. 6. Are you a Mac or PC user? PC. Windows XP SP2. Nvidia graphics card running at 1280x1024. GeForce 6600 GT.

Just as a side note, I downloaded the exe only file off the main server, which is reporting as 9.1.6 and the game runs fine again.

I'm sorry. The Executable Only section on that download page is 9.1.6?

Correct. based on the "patch released" thread the exe version of 9.2 is not available yet so I took a chance to see if 9.1.6 was still linked in the exe section, and it was.

Just to echo other posts, the upgraded 9.2 patch doesn't work for meand crashes on startup, but if I reinstall 9.16 (which I had backed up), the program works (albeit without the new upgrades of 9.2). I then tried 9.2 again (nope, again)

Okay just redownloaded the exe only file that is posted on the downloads site and yes, it is the 9.2 version (verified by crash as well as difference in file size compared to 9.1.6 working version).
So yes, the exe only download of 9.2 crashes for me as well, while 9.1.6 version of the exe is still working fine.

oh, no problem. thanks for questioning the exe only download. Would have hated to leave the impression for others that the 9.2 exe was not available yet.

I'm having the same problem. I recently upgraded to version 9.2.2, and when I upgraded I was using the "OOTP Classic" skin. Now whenever I try to load OOTP, it'll freeze if I previously exited the game using any skin other than OOTP Modern. When I attempt to re-start OOTP after the game froze, I get the message that crash flag is set and graphics reset to default. The game will load fine after that, but I really hate to have to keep re-setting my skin every time I load up the game.
Anyone have any ideas? |

And see if that solves the issue - it will need to rebuild the skin the first time you use it.
