When trading, all received players appear on active roster

I've recently made some trades and have noticed that my received players, rather than going to DFA, are being placed automatically on the active roster.

This did not used to be the case. I just noticed it this season.

I am playing with secondary rosters OFF.

It wouldn't be a problem, except when I trade for minor leaguers. For example, I just traded 1 major leaguer and 1 minor leaguer for 3 minor leaguers. All 3 received players were placed by OOTP on the major league roster.

Why? How do I fix this?

With secondary rosters off, are there any restrictions for demotions? I'm pretty sure that waivers wouldn't exist, yes? Can players refuse a demotion?

Yes, minor league free agency is on.

I think I made an error -- the players had major league contracts, even though they were minor leaguers. You can close this issue/thread for now. I'll let you know if I see the issue again. I think I just looked at it wrong.
