Licence problem after deinstalling OOTP 9?

I had OOTP 9 on my laptop and it worked. After installing a patch it didn't work properly because there seemed to be two versions.

Now I deleted everything having to do with OOTP and installed the game again. But it didn't ask me for a licence, so I fear I have this problem again.

How do you delete the old licence and how do you deal with the problem of multiple versions on the computer?

You shouldn't have to relicense the game no matter where you install it on your computer, to my knowledge. If you didn't unlicense it before, you shouldn't have to relicense it now.

Are you having any actual problems running the game? If so, could you please describe them.
