Error: Could not download file
I just got a team in the Hardball Heroes league (Hardball Heroes....A TSW Out of the Park collaboration!) and am completely unable to update my league files.
The game opens an FTP connection just fine and brings up the downloading dialog, which advances up the progress bar in the usual way. Nothing goes wrong until the very end, when you'd normally expect the file to be downloaded, and it gives me: Error: Could not download file I've downloaded a full save game file and tried redownloading and re-unrarring it, with no effect. I've disabled antivirus protection, with no effect. Both the commissioner and myself are running 9.2.11. No other GM in the league has reported this problem, and the guys over there are quite mystified as to what's been going on. Operating system: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 2 Computer: AMD Athlon x2 6000+, 6GB RAM, nVIDIA GeForce 9600GT, 8.24 GB free on the OOTP drive and 71.4 GB free on the Windows drive |

Do you have any firewalls active? If so, you might try disabling them.
Have you gotten any other online leagues to work for you, or is this your first one? Did you unzip your .lg folder directly into your saved_games folder and does your .lg folder have a bunch of .dat files in it? |

This is my first and to date only online league.
I have no software firewalls active. There is a firewall on my router, but since my first post I was able to get the download to work, in Linux, from the same computer on the same network, so that's not likely the problem. In any event, I tried disabling it and it didn't help. The .lg directory looks, as far as I can tell, normal. There are several .DAT files and several directories. And it loads just fine. |

Well if it works properly in Linux and not in Windows, then there has to be some sort of Windows setting that is causing a conflict. Have you run Windows Update recently?
