Creating a league with no players

Is it possible to create a fictional league with no players/no records?

I recently bought 9 after using 6.5 for years. I know in 6.5 you could create a league with no players/blank records by creating a custom league.

I think the only way to do this is to create your league, then dump all players to Free Agency. Then go to Free Agency screen and delete all players.

Then save as a quickstart.

Not sure if this gives you what you want or not, but I think I read this is the only way.
