"Error: Database: Could not load Faces file"

Just rcv'd this msg when starting up the game...

Solo league; been running fine for six months (completed 4-5 yrs); haven't added/changed anything (besides playing games)

Big powerful new (6 mos) laptop w/ Windows Vista and lots of empty HD space, so that is not aproblem

Is there some work-around or am I just sc____d?

Your faces.dat file got corrupted. As long as you don't mind having new FaceGen images for your players generated, you aren't in any trouble. Just delete the faces.dat file and load up the game. (If I remember that right. If that doesn't work, just create a new league as a test and copy its faces.dat file into your saved game's .lg folder.)

But I can't find the faces.dat file now. I don't know if this is because I have a computer w/ a new OS (Windows Vista) which has a different Directory format or because it's in some spot I can't find because of the changes at ootp.

I think I remember saved game files hanging under the master OOTP file, but I don't see anything there; just the .exe file, readme stuff, and some "skins" files

Any idea where they could be?
