New Customer: Game Crash On Sept. 7th

Glorious... I've owned the game for all of 4 hours and it already is crashing.

Seriously, if I wanted to pay 10$ an hour just to get f*cked I would have just bought a hooker

Okay back to serious matters:

Version: OOTP 9 (latest version) PC/WIN XP
Problem: Crashes trying to sim past September 7th.
Reoccuring: Everytime
Patience: Minimal
Other: I'm a complete newb. Simply downloaded and loaded in CubbyFan's 2009 thing and have been playing off that. I didn't screw with any fancy Setup Options. I played up until August 1st on Demo, then purchased the game, and simply am trying to finish the season I started (so much effort. Please don't tell me I have to start my season over

). Only thing I did was after the Amateur Draft I got curious and added in two Feeder Leagues mid-season (if that matters?)

The crash is silent. Kicks to desktop, but no exceptions thrown, etc................................................... ..........................

But seriously... I'm a software engineer in a previous life and this game is supposed to be my outlet so don't make me troubleshoot please. I'll gladly send whatever files that I'm asked to send.

Do you have AIM? I could possibly talk to you in about an hour, if you'd like. Maybe I can take a look at your files and see if I find anything.

Hmmm. Guess you're not around.

First off, you are using a hand edited roster sets might have something set that triggered the crash. I don't know much about Cubbyfan's set but I know he is still working on it.

To see if the game works properly with other standard leagues, try starting another league and quick simming for several years. If it crashes, please let us know. If not, you might want to try downloading Cubbyfan's set again and have a few test runs before you start a "keeper" league.

OOTP is an incredibly complex game with literally millions of setting combinations. We'd like to think we've tested most of them but the truth is there are still some setting combinations that will cause the program to hit a wall. For the most part, most people enjoy several types of leagues with a minimum of issues, or no issue at all. Hopefully you will join them soon!

Hi! Yeah, sorry about that... I disappeared after posting (LOL, I was up all night. i.e. In OOTP addiction mode so I had to get some sleep.

)

I'll create a custom 2008 league or whatever its called on the Main Menu and just sim for a while to see what happens. I have a feeling it won't crash since there are a lot of people here who have been probably playing this game for months on end without crashes.

I also noticed CubbyFan has a newer version of his rosters so if the simming goes fine I'd download and sim that one for a while to see what happens.

I'll post back later tonight if I run into any problems or if it went fine.

Tested your suggestions:
1) New 2008 Major League Game with pretty much default settings. Simmed 1 year and no crash.

2) CubbyFan Roster/Saved Game Template Version 1.51 with default settings. Simmed 1 year and no crash.

Guess I'll try option 2 again and start over (not that upset about losing other season), but instead this time for real by adjusting all the settings to my liking and try to play normally (too lazy to sim again so hopefully my settings weren't the issue

).

If the older season that was crashing for me is of any use I can send the .dat files... otherwise I'll just delete that saved game and hope for no crashes in the future.
