1 Pitch Mode?

I'm new to OOTP9, and I'm a little confused about the use of 1-pitch mode. I'm attempting to "watch" a game (both teams are set to computer manager). I have the PBP set to 1-pitch mode, but I'm still seeing each pitch as it happens rather than the conclusive pitch.

I've tried switching back and forth between 1-pitch and pitch-by-pitch, and it doesn't make a difference. Is there perhaps a setting I'm missing?

Thanks

It doesn't look like I was going to get a reply, but after a ton of Googling I did find out that 1-Pitch Mode doesn't work under Commissioner Mode. Which means those of us who have been playing Commissioner Mode for years in OOTP are now out of luck. Watching games just went from about 5 minutes to about 20 minutes, and our only choice for simming is now Quickplay.

I believe 1 pitch mode works when you play out games, not when watching.

If you want to speed up when watching games there are some options to reduce the verbosity of PbP and to speed it up. My watched games take about 10 minutes. You may be able to go faster.

I'm curious, this one feature is a deal breaker? Why did you not try the demo if that's all that mattered to you?

Doesn't 'At Bat' at the bottom just show the final pitch of the at bat? It's down in the bottom left or can be done by hitting enter or space.

He's watching not playing. Like I said above there are ways to speed up watched games and they do go pitch by pitch.

I've just started a dummy league and on the first game I had the At Bat option in the bottom left and it showed only the last pitch of the at bat.

I was in commissioner mode but not in charge of either team.

There is a check mark near the upper right of that screen that when cleared will play out the game according to your PbP settings. That will allow you to watch a game go by at fast speed. The only downside is that if you want to stop it, it may take a few clicks to take effect.

I guess I owe everyone an apology, and I owe Tony and major debt of gratitude. If you do a Google search on this issue, you will find several threads on the OOTP boards, all of which state that 1-pitch mode doesn't work in Commissioner mode.

However, if you do click on "At Bat" in the bottom left, it will effectively do the 1-pitch mode for you. It's not exactly intuitive, but it works. And that for me is a game saver. I was just able to play out a good game in 6 minutes. It took me that long to get through 2 innings before.

This should probably be part of a FAQ or something. I've found this same problem posed many times on this board, and each time the answer was there was no solution...which is not true.

That's funny. I have the same result as Tony. If I have the box titled "Pause after each play" checked, then either hit space or enter afterwards, it takes me to the last pitch of each at-bat. Now it takes some clicking, but it sounds like that's what you're doing anyway.

I'll note that down as a thing to put in the FAQ for 10, or maybe to improve the wording.

In the mean time I'll close this thread as the problem has been solved.
