Names Changing to Smith

I tried searching this to no avail.

Right before starting the playoffs in Season 2 of my current league, names have begun to randomly change to smith.

I am playing the Reds, and notice quite a few on that team alone. Joey Votto become Joey Smith. Edinson Volquez became Smith Smith.

Is there anyway I can fix this?

It sounds as if your names.dat file got corrupted somehow. Have you been running version 9.2.13? Was this league converted from a pre-OOTP 9 version of the game?

The league was started on version 9.2.13.

Well, that's not good. Did the game crash or forcibly close while saving at any point?

The game crashed while starting OOTP the day before.

I just closed out and restarted it, and everything uploaded. So maybe when it crashed it lost the file or altered it.

Quite possibly. I don't suppose that you have a backup of your names.dat file created sometime since the last draft class was announced, do you?

When a name changes to Smith, it will stay Smith after you close and restart OOTP?
