Downloading League File
Fellow Commishes,
I need some help. What are the steps to download the league file from the website in OOTP 9? I have several GM's in my league who can't get it to work or are new and don't know how. I've personally never done it, and all the OOTP manual says is that the Commish will tell you. ![]() Thanks in advance for the steps. |

If you are the commissioner, you have to put the zip or archive the file and put it on your website in a directory somewhere. Then create a link on the front page of your league website so your league members can simply click that link and download the file. Then they unzip it into their "saved_games" folder and start up the game.
EDIT: this article was originally written for OOTP 6.5 but the principles are the same for any version.

My confusion comes in because in OOTP9 there is a link while in the game to download the league files.
So I have to do both? Upload a zip and upload via the game? |

You just need to do one or the other, not both. Once I've created the archive in OOTP, I upload it to the server manually using FileZilla. As for your owners, they should download the file through their copy of the game. That will insure that everything is put in its proper place. Make sure you've got the proper information entered into your "Game Setup --> Online Options" screen; those settings will govern where their copies of OOTP look for the league file.

Remember that the other GMs must download the league file from your web site the first time, unstuff, and move lg folder to where OOTP stores saved_games.
After that, they can always go get the latest league file from inside the game.
