Online File Upload - Corrupt Zip

I run an online league after uploading the league file, everyone has trouble downloading and opening the zip file. They are getting "unexpected end of archive" errors when they try to unzip it to their game directories if they are downloading the file for the first time.

If they do an update online inside the game. They say that the game is stuck on 12/01 and the season date is now 1/10. Also, whenever they click on transactions, they say the game crashes immediately thereafter.

It seems like there is something wrong with the way the file is being created in the game. The only thing I see fishy is in the league lists there are two aa leagues with the same name. I can't delete either without knowing which is the real one. But other than that, I have unchecked all the leagues that are not part of my game. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't help but reccomend you post this in the "Online Leagues" forum and the "Commissioners" Forum. You're more likely to get help or suggestions for your problem there.

I don't think this is an online league issue. After some work, I found that if I go into the import_export directory and take the league file there and manually upload it through an FTP client the file that goes up to the server is a different size. It is slightly bigger than the one that is uploaded by the game. When people then extract that file to a xxx.lg folder and open it in the game it works fine. No corruption problems.

It has something to do with the games upload process that is causing the corruption. Would anyone know a setting or something in the game that would cause this?

I'm guessing that you have run this league with two different computers. On with XP and another with Vista.

Am I right?

If so, the issue is caused by Vista's hierarchy of directories. Vista uploads from the import_export/leaguefile directory while XP uploads from the import_export directory.

This would definitely give the league members an old file.

You are dead on. I recently switched my main CPU over to Vista (coincidentally right around the time of the conversion). The problems I am seeing now have been prevalent since that change.

Out of curiosity, how would I remedy this issue? Will it require me to create a new directory in the import_export folder or perhaps change a path?

Simply re-generate your league file, archive it and regenerate your reports with your Vista machine. Then upload within your game. All should get back on track.

Unfortunately, I have regenerated the league file on my Vista machine and uploaded it several times. Each time the file was corrupted and unable to be opened by other owners in the league. The reports seem to be working fine.

Is it possible that you also changed the server location where you upload the league file? If this is the case, your league file is uploading to a new location but the league members' league file has the old location still configured because they have an older file. You probably need to get them a completely new league file to start over with. Then, I'm sure all will work right until you change something again.

The game created the league file in the proper directory (import_export). I manually ftp'd the file up to the server. Had everyone download that version of the file and it worked fine for everyone (no corruption). When I completed a sim and uploaded the file in the game, the file became corrupted. When doing the in-game update of the file, people reported game crashes. When people tried to download the file from the server and do a complete reinstall of the file itself, they recieved "unexpected end of archive" error.

It appears whatever the game is doing to create the file, is causing it to be corrupt, since if I manually upload the file people can open it just fine.
