How to transfer a player from 1 league file to another?

I'm the commish of an online league and we're going to try to start something similar to the "posting fee" process that currently exists in Major League Baseball to transfer a player from one league to another, such as was done with Ichiro, Dice-K, etc...

The issue is that the players I'm importing into the "main" league are coming from a completely separate league file that's being operated and maintained by one of my league presidents.

I can pretty much figure out how to transfer the actual player by using the in game editor to manually copy all the ratings, attributes, etc, but I was wondering i there was an easier way to do it?

Also, is there any way to bring the player's stats over from the other league so he has them in our league when he's imported?
