I would think that the main advantage to having access to all the stats independent of the game engine itself is that you are no longer limited by the display. What I mean is, you can display what you want, where you want, create your own queries or searches, and even create your own statistics by combining other statistics.

You could basically create your own Catobase, but with what you want displayed, in the order or form you want it displayed.

But there is also the possibility of new utilities and additions that can be created.

What will be developed (or could be developed) will all depend on what the game itself gives us in terms of filtering and display capabilities.

So I'm guessing we won't see a full dump before release? It's great to finally see some of it, but I was really hoping we'd get a full dump well before release (it's not well before anymore, but it's still before) so we could actually get started on what we'd like to work on and maybe even have a limited version of whatever it is by release time.

EDIT: Looking it over I guess we can get started, but a full dump would still be even sweeter.

I've written a module to read through a folder, find all the *.sql files and then execute the SQL commands in them. (would have been easer to use csv files for access dumps but anyway)..

Errors I've found so far in the access files:

* Duplicate field names in players_contract (player_id used more than once)

* Duplicate field names in players_contract_extension (player_id used more than once)

* Syntax error in players_contract_extension (Haven't determined the cause of this yet).

Any chance you can PM me the text so I can paste it in a module?

I would guess that it is possible that the data is yet to be 100% set in stone, so it wouldn't really benefit to release a full dump and then all the modders find out it has been changed for the actual release of the game. In fact, we would probably see some angry modders .

I was intrigued by this thread title -- and I'm concerned that maybe that isn't saying too much about me.

i have been waiting for this for sometime as well, thanks Marc!

I will be interested to see all the programmers that take advantage of this and start working. My php/MYSQL knowledge is limited, but hopefully i know enough to get started.

True, and that's why I haven't been incessantly asking for it yet. From what I have been hearing it sounds like a lot of things aren't quite finished yet and I can understand if this would be one of the things left nearer to the end. But it's getting awfully close to May 31st now so there's not much time for even things at the end of the priority list. No pressure, of course. I'm sure Markus is already up late at night constantly looking at his watch and yelling at the screen for everything to somehow go faster.

This is cool. As a programmer, I can easily do reports and other cool stuff if all the data is in Access or MySQL.

I might actually do some cool third party utilities if I have time and if I can think of one. I am sure others will have good ideas.
