Well, I printed the Game Guide and - when I had some free time over the last several days - I read it all. It boggles the mind how Markus could pack so much stuff into this game. I'm utterly amazed. I figured I'd read the manual, apply the first patch, and then get "down and dirty" with the game itself. So far, so good.

Thanks again for creating such a professional manual. By reading it, I learned so much about OOTPB . . . and some things I didn't really understand clearly about baseball before.

There are also stickies in the Mods and Names/Nations forums, as well as the OOTP 2006 FAQ.

Steve, may I suggest you list the date each document was last updated in the 1st post?

Since you said yesterday that you'd update the game guide to reflect the patch, I'm not sure whether that has been done by reading the 1st post.

The updated Game Guide has been posted (same link as in 1st post). Each document in that list has a version number near the top of the document, that can help you determine whether you have the latest version. I hope that helps.

I downloaded from the link above that says version 1.1.

Just downloaded the file and it wouldn't unzip. Said it was an invalid file.

ZipGenius didn't display any files inside the archive, DLing again to make sure it wasn't just the download but that seems unlikely if two of us are having trouble.

On June 8th I downloaded the new game guide, but could not extract the zip file. The file seems to be corrupted.

Steve, it's hard for me to read all that stuff on a computer screen so I'm printing the guide. I finished to page 230 when I had to stop and order more color ink. Could you please post the changes made prior to this page so I can print that also and add it to the end? Thanks, Rich.

I remember reading in the pre-release reports about a guide called "A day in the life of ..." for solo players, online players and commishes. Is that still being worked on?
