Idea for Easy Modding
Sorry if this has been mentioned before....
It occurs to me that, despite the modding ability we have with regard to all the name, nation, etc. files in the database directory, it could prove a cumbersome process should we, say, wish to participate in an online "hobbit league" as well as regular Earth leagues. We'd basically have to flip around the different versions of the files before loading each league, download them separately, and so on. It could prove a huge pain.It would be great if we could override the files in the universal "database" directory by placing modified copies of the files in, say, an optional "database" directory under the .lg directories themselves. For example, say you had two leagues going, league A, which uses all standard database files, and league B, which is heavily modded with new nations and cities and player names. The A.lg folder would have no "database" directory, so when the game loads that league, it would go to the universal "database" directory for all those files. The B.lg folder, on the other hand, would have all the changed files tucked neatly under a "B.lg/database" subdirectory, where the game would look first, and load any files it finds in there *instead* of the ones in the default "database" directory. The files could then also be easily distributed and unzipped together with the league which they're meant to modify.

I fully support this idea. Shame treedom stole it off a zombie and is now claiming it as his own

Any modders out there figure out how to edit continents/regions? It seems the game is coded for 1=Africa 2=Asia 3=Europe 4=N. America 5=Oceania 6=S. America, but I can't find where to edit/change these values...
