Promoting minor-League coaches & managers
I have a pretty decent pitching coach at my rookie-league team whose cntract runs out this year and who doesn't want an extension with them. So, thinking that maybe I can keep him if I promote him to pitching coach at another team, I fire the not very good coach on my AA team and then go back to the other guy. But the option to promote him to the other team isn't there on the list of possiibilities, only promotions to the major league club.
So here's my question: Does not making the newly created AA pitching coaches' job available to the rookie league coach on the menu of promotions reflect thew fact that the coach wouldn't accept that promotion, and the only thing that would keep him with my organization is a promtion to the major league club, or is this a bug? IMHO it should at least be possible to offer him the promotion, even if he then decides to turn it down. Without offering coaches interim promotions such as these, I don't see how it would be possible to keep coaches and scouts at the lowest levels of organization with you while they acquire experience. Can anyone clarify the situation? Thanks.

I'd like to know about this as well. If we can't promote personnel, that seems like a huge bug.

I agree completely. The inability for transfers of personnel between *all* levels is a notable "bug". I think being able to swap and promote would be a strong piece of the gameplay.

I just tested this in the latest patch (build 12262), and you can swap around your personnel all you want.

Does anyone know the effect of not having a minor league manager? I forgot to notice that his contract was up and now no existing manager wants the job. Not sure what to do...

If I go into my Manager Home Page and set Minor League Team Management to "Minor League Managers", then the game almost immediately hires a new AAA Manager. If I leave it up to me, the human manager, then I see a news story that says that the AAA team will turn to its Bench Coach to manage the team. Since there is no "Bench Coach" at the AAA level, I assume that the AI will just take over as a pseudo bench coach. I fired all personnel for the AAA team to see what would happen, and it just kept on trucking...presumably in a crippled state.
