Once again, WOW.

Can we apply this patch to an existing league or do we need to restart?

Thanks in advance.

You can apply to an existing league but my advice is if you can start fresh do it. You'll be able to create that template and it will open up a whole new world.

If you are going to update an existing league BACK IT UP first

Marc, I want to make sure I understand this correctly. This option will create a league file with all of the necessary files needed for online leagues and upload it to our server? Does the game automatically use a specific zip program to create the league file? I assume we select what files to include in the league file? So, the steps that we would normally follow using a zip program will be incorporated into the game?

Appreciate the clarification and let me just say that this is an incredible addition for online leagues if it is doing what I think it will do. I can't explain my excitement with this added to the game!

Marc, I know I've asked about this before, but now if your just going to put fixes with TT# like below, it would be nice to have a list of the TT# so that we would know what these fixes fix. While I could go over to the Tech form and read through all 163+ threads over there to find out exactly what is being fixed that seems like a dauting task for something that may or may not effect me.

I think the 3 seprate area's is a great idea, it is really good idea for showing that you've logged the problem, but if your going to list TT# as being in the next fix list it would be nice to be able to refrance what these "features" are.

Absolutely awesome!!! I can't wait to finally get my solo league running.

#1789 - HOF criterias set with 0 are now being ignored

Does this mean we can effectively turn off VORP as being a HOF criteria? I hope so because I just can't seem to get into using VORP. I guess that I am just a plain old stats guy.

You can easily select which files you want to have in the online league file. Click on "Create Files". This will actually not create any files but it will search what we have and it will write a list of the files into a text file /import_export/league_files.txt. Use it for tools or whatever.
When that's done, click on "Create Archive". This will create a tar.gz file /import_export/.

For our purpose tar.gz files are better than zip files. They can easily be used on Unix servers, and most Zip-Clients for Windows and MAC know the format, too. And the compressed file is much smaller than a zip file, because the whole archive gets zipped, instead of each single file as Winzip does it.

To upload the file, click on "Upload Archive". It will go into the "Team exports directory" on the server.

Andreas, any stats on the different file sizes based on the options selected and 7 days worth of boxscores? Unfortunately, there are still people using dial-up and having the ability to create as small a league file as possible is an important need. Looks like a great addition to the game for online leagues!

This isn't an addition to the list, but I just wanted to say thank you one more time for including this feature in the patch.

Does 1.0.2 include all the fixes in patch 1.0.1 (which I never got around to downloading) or do I need both?

The file sizes will depend on the number of leagues, teams and players. The number of days that you should use will be the number of game days since your latest upload. This will vary and so it's difficult to give you numbers. But it's always good to upload only those files which are really needed!

This dialog is mainly meant to bundle the necessary files for you, to make the commish's job easier. The compression is made using zlib, which offers "industrial strength" compression and it's very fast.

Once again, I must say this patch is looking really good. I'm looking forward to "starting again" this weekend and hopefully moving forward with a serious career.
