link to the thread discussion is in post #4 above. Glad it made some progress for you. Thanks for the info, and keep us informed.

What's the deal with the 'Prevent any AI roster changes' option anyway? Did Markus really think this was the way to go when it was determined that guys' teams were being messed with? Is there anyone out there that doesn't want control of their team?

That was not the point... of course a human controlled team should not be touched by the AI, there were problems here, and they got fixed

This was instituted to help players who wanted to control EVERY aspect of EVERY team.

Long story short, if you just want to control one organization without the AI doing anything, you should be able to do it simply by signing on as GM of a team.

I received your league file, but my e-mail is very unhappy about it, and I'm not
able to fully "get" it.

Is there any chance you could place it on this FTP site?

IP Address: 217.158.3.6
Username: ftp-public
Password: public
folder ootp/game-save

Just let me know the name of the zip file, thanks!

Battists, it helps to hear that the 'Prevent any AI roster changes' option was intended for controlling every aspect of every team. However, it would help if someone would clearly state what it does, not just what it was intended to do.

I set-up a new league after the 1.02 patch. I stumbled on the hidden check-box when I was in commissioner mode while setting up my scenario of beginning financials for each team. I checked the box for my minor league teams only. It seems to be working in that I don't see my minor league managers switching my line-ups, etc.

Are you saying that by my having checked that box that all AI teams are supposed to then be frozen to my commands, or only those teams where I have individually checked the option?

Secondly, I assume that when Markus says the problem "got fixed", that he is referring to the next patch he is currently working on. Is that correct?

this is not referring to a specific problem but it is something that i think is way too complicated for such a basic maneuver.

there is just too much confusion over commissioner,gm's and managers. who is the gm of a team, who is the manager etc. there has to be a box on the first page -the league setup to simply check if you want to be commissioner, gm or manager and that is it. i can't believe the questions and confusion over this very basic issue. it must be simplified!!!

That's the current understanding. Protect your own, let the AI manage the balance. For those who desire this type of control.

The latter.

Not sure if this is what we're looking for, but, I did the following:

1. Loaded up Digi's league
2. Signed on as the GM of Boston.
3. Changed around the Pawtucket (AAA) lineups and depth charts
4. Simmed a full week (through Tuesday, for good measure).

Under that scenario, the AI did not make any changes to my depth charts or lineups.

Was there something else?

That is odd. Whenever I changed things around in Columbus, it would stand pat for a week and be switched back (depth chart & lineup).

figures it works correctly when we send it to you. ;-)

Well, that's kinda the point - I have a newer, unreleased version. So, the fact that it's working as intended means it might be fixed!

Will the new update have the ability to control all teams under one profile so we will not have to keep switching? If we could pick more then one team to be controlled by the same commissioner, this would probably help the issue with AI's making changes. One profile set to control all teams without having to switch, any thoughts on this in the next patch, PLEASE?

These are my suggestions for what they are worth.

1. If I am GM of a major league equivalent team, the default should be that there are no AI roster changes in my minors. That means only promotions, demotions, trades, signings and releases.

2. As GM of the major club, I shouldn't be controlling depth charts, lineups and rotations of my minor league clubs. There might be a feature whereby you suggest depth charts once a month for the minor league manager to consider as one evaluation factor. If he consistently ignores your suggestions, your only remedy would be to fire him.

As far as making it more flexible, there should be two distinct buttons to toggle for greater control. You can choose not to control the rosters or not. You can then also choose whether to manage the teams or not.
