I bought it ( more accurately received a Christmas present ) and was underwhelmed.

Ummm, OK, I am a bit slow. And Have been sippin some vodka lemonades to help combat the heat here so I don't get the suicide cats reference.

But if you have not tried out the games the mods have made, some of them are really amazing the level of work they have contributed to help improve the "vanilla" release. Its worth a look.

It is very similiar to the hard work that individuals do here to help make accurate settings, or databases of past players. Except they change the way the game plays.

To try to get back on topic, should I now insult something?

"Still"? They were never a part of the original feature set. Their possible inclusion in a update patch was only because I first floated the idea as an alternative to fully fledged adding/deleting of leagues.

Markus like the idea and wanted to include it in an update, but it has not to this point been included. Frankly, that's just as well, because there are a lot of details about exactly how the active/inactive league concept should work. Those details would all need to be fleshed out.

All that said, there is a workaround out there that lets you start a baseball universe with some leagues inactive, which you can then activate at a later date.

SI has followed this course with other games (using different terminology), so I can't imagine this would be off the table. My ... it is an excellent system for a new version of software, but might have been unworkable for a new build like OOTP2006.

Sorry, thought I remembered EHM getting a "Gold" demo before the release.

Gold demo is very different to beta

Beta = unfinished
Gold = Game has gone to manufacturing and CDs are being pressed.

There was a beta demo with the first version of EHM, wasn't there?

I feel the same way about "everything Microsoft" releases. I will not go near Vista (or whatever it is called) until service pack 2 is released.

Mac Versions

Hello,
I quickly skimmed this group of posts about the newest patch. Quick question. For Mac version do we need to uninstall our current version, download the full copy and then install it. Like we did with the other 1.02 patch? Just don't want to lose anything.
Thanks

I installed the final 1.0.2 without uninstalling the older version.
Everything is running fine.
Although I did back up all my data files, just in case

Did Marc post the correct link? On the page it reads:

We are pleased to make the second work in progress build of the OOTPB 2006 1.0.2 patch available. Please note this is not a final version of this patch, this will be available next week!

I thought this was the final patch.
