Which of these would you like to see in the game and so on

Minor League Team Contracts with a MLB team meaning lets say the Devil Rays have a contract with Orlando as their Triple-A team thru 2012 and when its up their don't decide to renew it or that team gets a purchased by anther team meaning the Devil Rays would have to find a new home for their Triple-A team
Black Monday
Brawls and Fights because the In Game Play by Play looks real now like other baseball games like MVP and so on
Non Roster Players and Pitchers
Split Squad Games in Spring Training
Home Derby shown Live,Futures Game and Celebrity All-Star Game at the All-Star Break
Automatic Relocation in MLB or other Leagues
Unretirements
Games against College teams and your Minor League teams at the end of Spring Training
Will V. Memory have a problem in this version?
Why don't just sell a version on DVD or CD for 49.95 then we don't have to pay 10 dollars extra for the backup CD and also sell it in stores like Compusa,EBGAMES,Wal-mart,Best Buy and so on?

What about beach balls getting onto the field?

What about arranging for celebrities to sing the anthem at your games?

Why not have a part of the game track hot dog and beer vendors?

What about steroids? Amphetamines? What about having your psychotic ex-wife torch your house ala David Justice?

I'll answer my own question, it's a text sim, not a visual one. That's why home run derbys, detested already by some as pathetic posturing for athletes isn't and shouldn't be in here. Same with brawls. Maybe in OOTP14 or something when there's literally nothing left.

Unretirement already happens from time to time.

Some additions to spring training would be cool but you might check the threads dedicated to those things, you might find what you're looking for.

Because CD's are the equivalent of Model T's and DVD's are so 20th century. Digital everything, music, books, movies, games, that's where it's at. Physical stuff is overrated.

Maybe but this is a baseball sim, what would this mean to me as a GM?

Black Monday
I've never heard of this. Do you mean black friday? And if so what does that have to do with baseball?

Quote:

I thought MVP was a console game with graphics. OOTP is a text game.

Quote:
Non Roster Players and Pitchers
This would be nice for spring training. Maybe in 2008?

Might be nice for 2008

Why? The home run derby would be boring in text. Futures game would be nice but we already have minor league all star games and that is basically the same thing. OOTP doesn't know names so where would the celebrities come from?

Quote:
Automatic Relocation in MLB or other Leagues
Already works for MLB.

Unretirements
Already in 2006.

what does this mean? Virtual Memory? Video Memory?

I think you are thinking of another game company. I didn't know OOTP offered a backup CD for 10 dollars.

Dude, I was serious. I want to track the concession vendors at my game for their relevant skills. IRL, there is a guy at McAfee Coliseum who can drop a bag of peanuts on a dime three sections away while making change for someone else. That needs to be honored and somehow reflected in OOTP.

He's got you on that one. The webstore offers a backup CD for any ordered game, at the bottom of the page.

Home run Derby????

About as useful as adding a celebrity throwing out the first pitch.

C'mon, get serious here

The affliate contract thing is the only thing in the op that I really like. Although we pretty much already have the ability to do that. My only thing is it'd nice when a mlb team changes its affiliate that the players will move with the mlb team instead of staying with their old team... thus screwing the mlb that worked so hard to aquire those players.

Black Monday is the day after the season where Bad teams usly fire their Managers.
Futures Game is the Sunday before the All-Star break.
Hva e you seen the Features Page it shows you a Picture of a real Stadium so maybe the In Game Play by Play now has real sound with Annoucers calling the games.
Automatic Relocation should be like in Season Ticket Basketball where if your Team can't get a new Stadium or Dome built it could move.
How about how many Interleague games are played like I would Schedule them all year round and how many teams make the MLB Playoffs?
A Roster Editor that's outside the game like NHL Eastside Hockey Manager's one but in a Baseball version.
Staff/Personal Hall of Fame and Unretirements?
Organization Reports like Sports Weekly has or like NHL Eastside Hockey Manager has Team Report to replace Top Prospects page?
News like MLB Season Preview,Top Prospects,Tops at each Postion and so on that NHL Eastside Hockey Manager has that this game doesn't but in a Baseball version

That's cool. learn something new every day. Now why someone would do that rather burn their own 50 cent cd, no idea. But at least its an option.

Actually I wouldn't mind brawls, but the reason isn't because "oh I want to hear how their all dancing around" but another feature I think we all want to see at some point.

Suspensions. I would love to see the idea that a brawl lead to a player getting suspended for 15 games and so forth.

When I've tried burning my own music CDs, it doesn't work. I would just assume it wouldn't work for this, either.

Do players unretire on their own in 2006, or just after you manually do it? I haven't paid attention.

Music and data CDs are a little different. Data CDs are a little easier to burn.

Well, it's been mentioned elsewhere that if you have dialup service you may prefer to get the game on CD in the mail; it's not just a backup in that case. Plus, your game license # is printed on the CD which is a nice way to keep it handy.

Another reason is the customizability of the game. A lot of people (not me or 1998 Yankees) mod the game by manipulating files. In other games that I have tried to mod, sometimes I break them. If I do break them, I need a hard copy to reload, or I'm out the game and the money.

I know there's supposed to be a way to download a second copy, but I've seen the description of how to do it several times, and it's beyond me. (Also, I've tried doing it from another company and been unsuccessful.) I'm also supposed to be able to make a 'disc image', but I can't even figure out what that is, much less how to make one, or what to do with one once I had it. I'm a computer illiterate, and CDs give me confidence.

I didn't get a CD for 2006 because I didn't know it was an option, but now that I know, I'll do it when I finally scrape together the money for 2007.

its not really the topic at hand, but at least one positive thing can come from this thread...

to get a second copy, you just download it again and enter your license # after install (assuming you unlicensed in the first place). nothing to it.
