Some suggestions as to what would make the next version better!

I have been playing the 2006 version for a while now and there are a few things which would make the game more user friendly and enjoyable. I oppologise if some have been mentioned already.

1) When the team wins a world series or makes the playoffs - a little hoopla would be nice.

2) draft picks trading is a nice option but it would be helpful if we knew which pick we would be trading for. For example if I trade a player to Florida for a First round pick it would be nice to know if it is the first overall pick or the 30th overall pick. It makes a significant difference.

3) A better warning system with players out of options. When using the AI to set up rosters good players get sent to irevocable waivers even though he has options

4) the news filtration system needs improvement - an area where I can see just trades (not lumped in with all transactions - I don't care if some team in another league demoted someone to AAA.

This one would be really cool.

5) I would LOVE to see an evaluation system of "newscasters" who weigh in on everything I do as GM. So if I trade a fan favorite does the local media call for my head or just call me a bone head. Or if I rob a team blind in their view I get raves (ditto on second guessing the manager or calling a player a bum). Kind of a Rotoworld synopsis. This is here a tiny bit with free agent signings but it would be great to be noted on trades.

6) Future team budget listings - in other words if I sign a bunch of players in 2006 I would like to be able to see who is locked up several years into the future. This makes it clear to me whether I really want to drop $22 million on a player for 5 years because I know I won't be stuck in year three with no budget for other moves.

7) draft contracts -- will the number one pick sign cheap or ask for a lot. Generally teams have discussed with the player prior to the draft to determine if they can afford him - but this would be nice in the game.

8) a better description of what the ratings mean. It seems players with terrible work ethics can still be huge stars and what exactly does leadership ratings do?

9) arbitration would be better if player and GM can submit numbers to eachother and continue to try and hammer out a deal "before" going to arbitration.

10) player to be name later would be good as well. The team provides a list and you have until a certain date to select one or take cash considerations.

I am not sure any of these are attainable but they would be nice.

I heard in another post on here that there will at least be news created about the winner.

This order of the draft changes until the end of the season. So if you trade draft picks during the season you'll want to look at the standings and maybe try to pick someone near the bottom. But it's not a guarantee what spot in the draft you'll get until after the season.
