For example, it allows for:
* Inclusion of the Federal League in deadball-era sims. You can add the league, then when it folds, you can simply delete it again. * Potentially, it allows for accurate simulation (or at least inclusion) of historical minor leagues. In the early days, there were a crazy number of minor leagues, some of which only lasted a handful of years, then folded. Now we can have a very mutable landscape of minor leagues without having to have it all planned out completely in advance. * Fixing of mistakes. Say you sim five years, decide that you no longer want one of the subleagues or unaffiliated leagues or what-have-you. Now, instead of having to restart your entire universe from scratch, you can simply delete the unwanted leagues. And lots more, I'm sure. To me, it's an absolute necessity. In a game this complex, the ability to change your league structure in this manner is vital, especially if you want to get started playing without having to spend weeks planning out the perfect universe all in advance.

For me, I had a world planned out that had leagues starting and folding at various times throughout history (like in real life). In '06 this wasn't possible... every league had to start at the exact same time (rather unrealistic in my eyes).

Ah, ok. So, historically-speaking it's a must have, and if you wish to simulate your own leagues failing it's a nice to have.
I've never played historical nor have I moved far enough along to get to the point where deleting a league sounded interesting to me. Thanks! |

I am very happy about this. I don't know if this was answered elsewhere, but is there a way to re-activate a deleted league? IOW, if I delete the Federal League after 1915 but decide it will start again in 1920, can I do that, or do I just have to make a new FL (not the end of the world, really)?

Maybe you could unaffiliate them for a few years, dump all their players into the MLB pool, then make it so the AI couldn't make any roster moves and they didn't have a schedule, then reattach them and turn everything back on in 1920....? Dunno if that would work, or if it would give the game heartburn, but it's at least an option in this version of the game. There are options to have creative ways to workaround different scenarios in this version that don't exist in prior versions!

It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... beings will come Frodo. Beings will most definitely come." - Gladden Field of Dreams |
