Okay, seriously . . . this game is amazing! I've bought every version since the very beginning and I feel like a proud uncle-of-sorts right now as I have watched this game grow and grow into an absolutely remarkable achievement. I haven't even scratched the surface yet really, but the presentation and sim speed alone is worth the moeny. It just flies now. The FaceGen feature is simply one of the best additions imaginable, and will really bring leagues to life as never before.
Marcus, you really have outdone yourself with this new version. Kudos! And kudos to everyone involved in the game. This is a solid, immersive, beautiful, intuitive release - it was clear right from the first that SI Games, Marcus, and everyone helping him really paid attention and got things right, as they say ![]() Great job! I can't wait to play around some more and then important my Mountaineer League in!!!! Now, off to enjoy this game! |

After a brief foray..........Face-gen works
PBP seems much improved, ability to move outfielders from the 10th row of the bleachers, good. Various league set-up screens work really smoothly.........In fact I think I'll go and play some more

The backspace key takes you back a screen. Outstanding!

3 letters W O W! It looks great, haven't played a game yet, but had to share this amazing realism with you. I choose my team to manage in a fictional league and my generated GM photo looked just like me. You guys are incredible, how did you do that?

The little tips and trivia under the progress bars are a really nice touch as well. The only problem, if you can actually call this a problem, is that the game is so damned quick, I can't read all of the text before the progress bar has reached 100%.

"Of course I'm going to rip into the game" ? I'm sorry you're so impatient you can't wait for people to help you. When games first come out there are always issues. It's nice when, instead of ranting right away, people give the developers a chance to help them. Obviously you look at it a different way. Enjoy the ulcers you will inevitably develop someday

Yeah, the tips and trivia are just a txt file that can be customized to add as many or as little as you want. Pretty Cool!

Something else new that may pull me to the webcast screen more often.
Bottom left corner is team info detailing many things about the teams playing including available pinch hitters and rested relievers. Nice touch and a great idea. |

Has anyone managed an individual game yet? This is the first version I'm holding off on buying right away because the in-game experience was a big drop-off from 6.5. I'm happy to hear that some of my complaints were taken into consideration for this version (strategic one-pitch, an option for basic PbP, a nicer looking in-game interface including more relevant information, some general changes to make historical leagues more fun) but I was wondering how all of these features affect the game. On average, how long does it take to manage a game on on-pitch mode? When I have the rare evening to throw at OOTP I like to try to get through a month or so in a sitting, so any increase in speed without losing gameplay or immersion is welcome.
And I know that this doesn't belong here, but I think a great feature in the future would be to allow customization of the ratings and stats displayed on the in-game screen. All of the other parts of the game have great customization but since I spend most of my time in-game, this would be helpful. Ooh, and also, are you able to see a batter's lifetime performance against the current pitcher (and vice-versa) from the Substitutions tab? I love pitcher vs. batter stats but they need to be easier at hand for the bench players and bullpen. It's been too often when I yank a pitcher who has performed badly against a batter late in the game only to bring in a guy who's given up two homers in five at-bats against the batter. Sorry for ranting. I should probably copy the second and third paragraphs and post it somewhere else... |
