So I guess we should have an impressions thread

So here it is.

1. This game flies. I can't believe what a difference there is in sim speed compared to any other version of OOTP.

2. The screen/menus/presentation is absolutely beautiful. Not only that, but it's a heck of a lot more responsive than 2006 was. About 8 years into a 10 year sim, I clicked the "Stop Auto-Play" button and the game actually stopped! Very impressive.

I haven't done much so far, but I really like what I see up to this point.

Great job Markus and company!

The install file is 68.8 megabytes in size. It was downloaded to my work computer's desktop, but has since been transfered to my Olympus digital camera for transport to home. Attempts to install the game on the camera by itself have been unsuccessful.

Holy crap! You can sort statistics in the in game player HTML reports. That is so cool. I didn't see that reported in any of the thread up to this point. Very nice surprise.

I am totally floored. Just on the "eye candy"a lone this game is amazing. Face Gen does not work on my laptop here at school but I expected that. My system at home should hold up fine. QUICK - it moves right along. I have only had the game open for about 30 minutes. I love the step-by-step league creation wizard. Luckily our school is off tomorrow so no teaching for me....now if I can convince my wife tonight the importance of sitting in front of the computer....

Congrats guys....so far...one word....AMAZING!

Overall I am impressed. I sure could go for some real names though. Is there a way to use a 2006 roster file?

It's pure crap that FaceGen won't work on all video cards. That's just lazy ass developing right there. I have an ATI Raedon Express 200m on my laptop and it doesn't work. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. I didn't see this mentioned much, they raved about the face gen,but didn't tell anyone it wouldn't work on a lot of video cards.

Sounds like the same sneaky advertising they did last year. What a jip.

Huh? We have been discussing this for weeks here.

Update your video card drivers and I am certain it will work.

PS: Watch your language please.

Yeah, update your video drivers and it should work fine. Try a bit of troubleshooting before you rip into the game man.

There have been threads all over the board for over a month on video cards and openGL 2.0. Do a search and you'll find tons of posts, many from the last two days.

That's just lazy reading on your part, nobody to blame but yourself.

One thing I can't figure out -- how do I simulate without injury popups?

On the Manager Options screen, uncheck the first two items under "Exit Autoplay..."
