My Take on OOTP 2007 after one day

So far, I like it a lot.

Sure, it needs work. The interface is still inconsistent and sometimes ass-backwards, some things are to hard to find, some things are already irritating after one day (reading an anecdote about one stupid exploit of Pete Rose six bloody times in one day makes MD want to punch out the LCD screen), and there needs to be an easier way to integrate graphics into the game. I'll write up a detailed review of the game later on.

Overall the game is exactly what OOTP 2006 should have been and wasn't...and that's a very good thing. My preliminary personal appraisal on it is an A-; given that I finally gave OOTP2006 a flat F and walked away in disgust, this is one heck of a comeback for a game to make. Two or three patches and we might have an A+ here. In any case, we finally have a worthy successor to 6.5.

Well done, everyone. The historical record of the aftermath of a large company buying a high-quality niche market sport sim has almost always been the end of the sim. That's what I was sure was happening again with OOTP 2006. Thanks to a lot of effort, that didn't hapen, and I am very glad that was the case. Good job, Markus. Good job, Duffy. Good job, SI.

And now let's get started listing what needs to be in the first patch...

Kyros, it took a long time for THIS plan to come together.

Well said, I'm in agreement with your comments 100% (at least with my experiences so far).

Welcome back MD!!!

Yeah. The good news, this is a text file, so anyone can add/edit them. There will prbably be more by the first patch.
