How do you make photos work (not facegen)

I am having a problem getting my photos to work, I am not using facegen but rather a facepack that I had used in OOTP 2006. Has the naming convention changed in 2007? I used the convention where if a player id number is say 80 I named it player_80 but the photo is not showing up in the game.

If I name the picture by the player's name the photo does show up. However that becomes difficult when the player's name has special characters such as the n tilde in Spanish players' names, etc. Thanks for any help

I'm interested as to the responses you get. I'd like to use real photos as its the one major reason I have not bought the game yet.

It's by full name. Ted_Williams, Honus_Wagner, Roger_Clemens and so on and so forth. As for players with unusual characters in their names, unless you know how to type them then you're out of luck unless you simply change the player's name in OOTP.

Also, be aware that you can no longer (as far as I can tell) put a picture in the proper folder and then see it get updated in OOTP moments later. You now have to close out the game entirely. Unless I missed something, I haven't put a lot of time into actually playing the game, I'm still creating my 'world.'

? You can most certainly use real photos. Don't see why that would be holding you back.

Thanks for the response, I will try that and see if it works.

Although I am not going to make a big stink about it as I am enjoying the game so far but I do hope that in future updates they bring back the old naming convention. For those who can't use facegen and want to retain the names generated with special characters it makes it very difficult.

A workaround for special characters would be to type them in a program like Microsoft Word, then copy and paste.

Just restarted the game and it looks as if the old naming convention still works, but like Kelric said you do have to close down the game and restart. Thanks for all the help.

In:

C:\Documents and Settings\Larry\My Documents\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2007\data\photos

In this photo folder, unzip the Gambo collection. The game will automatically pull photos from this folder, based on the players name when you create a league or when the ammie draft happens.

I will have a program this week out to synch the photos from Gambo with the WingWright collection and other custom collections.
