Popularity Question

I signed two pitchers off the free agent junk pile and put them in my bullpen. They stayed with me for a couple of months putting up ERA's in the 8's. I released them. Evidently they were popular because my fans didn't like that. Are the players stats in any way tied to popularity? I know in my town if a player stinks....no matter how popular he is......the fans are happy when he's let go..........

Agreed. There should be a negative local popularity, IMO.

But in all seriousness, when your team is good enough, releasing a scrub should matter. Right now I think it's mainly random.
