Need Help Setting Up my League
I need some help.
1. How do I setup/find my 40 man roster. I find all the other rosters, but, I can't find to where I drag and drop players in a 40 man roster window. 2. I want to setup my lineups from OPS numbers, but, the custom list doesn't give me this option, all it has for listing players is what I would call "core program" features like CONvsL and CONvsR, etc. stuff like that. Is there something where I can use real ingame stats to choose my lineups?? 2a. Also in 6.5a I could see in the lineup window the actual stats of the players (underneath their names) vs LHP/RHP or OVERALL that had a button you could use to cycle which stats you wanted. This was MAJOR helpful during the season determining where to place players in the batting order when I was setting up lineups. Where is this now? 3. The depth feature is very confusing, why didn't it have it's own separate window like before instead of out to the side of players in this one? 4. Free Agent offerings does not let me go back out to Free Agent selection screen by right clicking like most everything else. To get back to the Free Agents selection screen I have to use the left/right arrows at the top of the offerings page. Why? 5. How to setup minor league players rotation and lineups and position training? I can't find this anywhere, it was so much easier in 6.5a. Just pull up Minor League Pitching Staff or Minor League Lineups and wallah there it was. 2007 is rather confusing in this department majorly. 6. This is a disappointment statement rather than a question. I bought this game hoping to import my "current" season from 6.5a, but, NOOOOOOOOO you can only import at the START of the SEASON???!! What kind of bs is this?!! Like the total reason I bought this game now was I thought I could use my current season right now from 6.5a. Kinda misleading false advertisement there. You should have told us that you had to import at the start of a season in the advertisement I think. Welp thas all for now. I'm sure I will have many other questions as I try to figure this thing out. Downloading the "manual" now, flipping 19mb on dialup is SLOOOOOOOOOW. Think that's slow haha think about how long it took me to download 2007 haha. Last edited by TC Dale; 03-24-2007 at 04:50 PM. |

On the Transaction screen it should be in the far top right corner. (Or somewhere around there, I'm currently playing with 40 man off so I don't recall exactly). Either way, it's on the Transaction Screen.
When clicking the View: whatever button, select Customize and make your own views. The stats in the lineup screen don't exist anymore. I'm hoping they return in an option form in a patch. As for the depth chart being right next to the lineups, some people wanted it that way and they were vocal enough that it got changed. I appreciate the idea, but I think it was poorly implemented so far. Can't help you on free agents, I haven't gotten that far yet in my season. Go to your regular major league lineup/rotation pages. In either the top or bottom right corners (again, I have minor leagues disabled right now so I can't recall exactly) there should be a button that will let you select which roster you're looking at - active roster, Triple-A, Double-A, etc. As for the importation issue, it's generally been an accepted part of the OOTP experience since importation was put into the game that you can only convert during the offseason. I'd hardly call it false advertisement. Just finish out your current season and then import it over, I suppose.

Maybe you should read the game manual, ask a few questions, and tinker around with the game a bit before importing OOTP6.5 leagues anyhow. People are willing to help, even when we don't have all the answers. Quote:

Thanks Will. I found the 40 man roster thingy like you said. Now I have another "beef" about that haha. Why does it always ask me "Are you sure you want to put X player on the 40 man roster?" haha Is there an option to turn this question off and automatically do what I say without questioning my every move to the 40 man roster??

Just take your time with the game. It is very complicated and has a steep learning curve. Steve (battists) is working on some video tutorials that should help you and others who are new to the game, but there is a lot of work that goes into a video tutorial, and they're not all ready to be realeased. Lol someone edited my title no wonder I couldn't find the thread. I've been having to use back on the web browser to stay in contact with it. lol Guess they didn't like "This Game Suks" for a title eh? hahaha
K, my next question where can I change the names of my "minor league teams"? I'm doing pretty good with a lot of the rest of it. It's just taking some time getting used to the interface changes and everything not being on the same page like it is in 6.5a. I mean when you went to transaction screen in 6.5a you saw EVERYTHING from the 40 man roster to each minor league team and your 25 man roster, even the disabled list. I have to admit that was much easier to handle than sorting thru 52 card pickup sorta interface that this has. The real two reasons I bought this were because of the new spring training features and hopefully an improved AI in both coaching and most especially trading. It just never takes me long to build a stacked team of players less than 30 years old, keep it that way and win championship after championship vs the AI. I'm so hoping this one is better or I probably just wasted $35 Also, Trying to setup believeable stat leagues has always stifled me on some of the things used for stat management. One of them BABIP... I don't really understand this, what does it mean and how does it effect the stats? If it's low like .250 what does it do? If it's high like .314 what does that do? The biggest problem I have in these leagues is pitcher stats are almost unbearable in outcomes. I see waaaaayy too man era's of 5.00+ and the league average is near .4.80 all too often. Is this normal? When I look at season ending stats for real life baseball these numbers aren't this high they are more around the lower 4.'s Last edited by ravinhood; 03-24-2007 at 06:55 PM. |
