How to get pop-up messages to display longer

The game displays pop-up messages in different places with tips and player info, etc. I know I get these when players are created. I have also seen messsages with tips like how to keep players from leaving your team. However, the messages pop up and then disappear too quickly. I just see enough of the message that I would have liked to have read it if it had stayed visible long enough. These are messages on a black or dark-gray background that pops up on top of whatever part of the game I was looking at.

Is there a way to have these messages display longer before disappearing?

I don't think so. these are just time fillers while the game loads certain things. be happy they go by fast, otherwise it would mean your computer was slow

My computer IS slow, and I can read almost all of them. There's supposed to be a hundred of them (I think I read), but I seem to get the same dozen over and over. Sometimes the same one three times in a row.

The popup that I really wish I could control is the in-game popup when a new batter comes to the plate or a new pitcher comes in to pitch.

The popup lasts about 1/4 of a second (on my fairly fast computer) each time but I have yet to be able to read one. Hope in the future we can select the delay time.

That pop-up only appears when the game is generating a new player picture. It's really not a big deal.

The whole file is called hints.txt, and can be found in data\help.

There's only a few hundred hints in there. You could just print it out and read it if you really wanted to.

No. I'm talking about during a baseball game (not during the loading of the computer game). When a new player comes to bat or replaces the pitcher.

I wish I could tell you what these screens are saying but they disappear too fast. They add a new dimension to the term "Popup".

Seriously, they're saying "Generating picture" and the player name, with a tip underneath.

There are no other pop-up windows while playing out games, unless you've unlocked a secret mode.

Thanks Erik. At least I know now. I guess I was thinking that there was a neat introduction about the player coming into the game - something that has been asked for previously, and improved with the current release.

When you listen to or watch a game, when a new pitcher comes in the announcer will give the players stats for the year, whether he is left-handed or right-handed, how old he is, what kind of pitches he throws, etc. I guess I thought I was missing the "good stuff". Appreciate your input.
