Yhea, I was referring to the Cephas in your screen name. I had to use my ESP to figure out the surname .

I have a degree in Religious Studies so when I see Cephas, immediately Peter comes to mind.

I know this would be an extremely ambitious project....
We don't even have accurate population data for the PRESENT, because the game only recognizes incorporated towns (above 500 in pop., I think). There are plenty of parts of the country where large numbers of people, even majorities, don't live in incorporated towns.

I pointed out last year, here, why this is so, except for the New England states which the game handles accurately.

I've found that Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Leagues to be a great resource. There's another book that I borrowed from the library that has pretty good details on various league configuration and time periods of the different leagues.

Great bedtime reading. You can grab the book and read through a few of the bios to put yourself in a good mood. You'll go to bed smiling, and you'll have dreams about baseball. Legendary players and legendary games.

Of course your dreams will be a bit more glamorous than it actually was for them.

My great grandfather knew a bunch of those guys. My mother was a member of this Cleveland Indians-affiliated organization that used to babysit for Indians players' wives when Satchel Paige played here. She said Mr Paige told her that her grandfather used to come see his teams play back in the day. He would always shout stuff to them during the games and make them laugh so hard they could barely play.

I wish somebody would put together a Lahman-type database for Negro league players. There are in fact stats for a number of those guys. For the rest, we could fill in the gaps with speculation or "place holder" stats. The important thing, after all, is getting the names imported into OOTP.

I'm sure there are people in the modding community who could correct any stats or ratings that don't seem quite right. That's a project I'd love to get involved in.

I haven't really been able to keep up with the (seemingly) hundreds of threads each day. Does this work with v9, or is there something similar for the new one out there?
