Once Cubbies rosters are out, I plan on plunking A-Rod in the face every time he comes to bat . Somewhat irrelevant, but it needs to be done.

Please wait until he opts out of his Yankees contract. Thank you.

Ya think he will? I would think that a monster season would make him want to get out, and the 60+ homer pace he's on is certainly monster.

Still, I don't really want him in Boston. Just doesn't feel right. . .

Agreed, ejection and possibly suspension. No reason not to have that as part of the game.

In the meantime, I'll continue plunking instead of issuing the IBB. Plunked two more since then, no injuries.

I'd love it if the game could eventually have both of those.

As commissioner, you could simulate these of course (I believe you can "injure" somebody with a "none" diagnosis to simulate suspension) but there's no fun in that because there's no drama. I would rather the game simulate it for me, and perhaps tie the chances of a player getting involved in such a situation with low ratings in leadership and intelligence, or low morale.

I am completely in favour of linking player personality with certain injuries, suspensions, etc. In-game, personality could play a role in deciding who charges the mound, for example. I would especially like to see off-field injuries have a personality flag- injuries from, say, bar brawls or 'running away from the police' should happen more often to people with bad personalities. Besides the occasional message during free agency saying a player is 'a clubhouse cancer', I don't get much of a feeling for the personalities of players without using a lot of imagination- the ratings don't really paint a picture for me, and their effect is normally a mystery. Linking personality with suspension/fighting/arrest related injuries would help. I would also like to see a new injury diagnosis for suspensions, so that one doesn't need to use 'no diagnosis' or 'undisclosed'.

Don't forget morale as well. I can definitely see "very unhappy" and "angry" linked with brawls in-game and fighting/arrest incidents off-field, all followed by possible suspensions.

I can't believe this game doesn't have ejections.

Oh I would love to have him in Boston, don't get me wrong. But as long as he dawns the stripes of death - he will get plunked in my OOTP world. He and Wang are the only current Yankees I would allow to put on a Red Sox hat.

Did you hear that story about a month ago how Big Papi said he wouldn't rule out playing for the Yankees in the future? I would throw up.

Or maybe it could be called the Jose Mesa - Omar Vizquel code

Because we're all good and decent people who choose doing the right thing every time over cheats, workarounds, and abuses?

That's too logical. Let's be realistic.

Funny how Markus avoids making comments on certain threads!!!

Why? Too much work to get a fix?

There aren't currently any suspensions in the game. Markus would have to make a special kind of injury that didn't come with a possible talent hit. I'm not saying it's not possible or even too hard, but he did say there wouldn't be any new features this patch.

(note: I am not speaking with any special inside information, just the stuff he's said in public)

Is the issue the talent hit? I would have thought that suspensions would be more difficult to implement than other injuries because they need to be counted in games, not in days- making end-of-season suspensions especially awkward, from a coding perspective.
