A History suggestion
I had a suggestion that I believe should be easy to implement. It might have already been suggested, but i haven't seen it.
In the history section of each player, where it summarizes all the awards he has won (10 batter of the week, 2 batter of the month...), I think it should list the amount of championships he has won. I know it already lists that in the more extensive history section underneath the awards, but it would be nice to have the number of championships won easily seen instead of having to scroll through the whole history of the player. On the same note, in the Leaders section in History, Championships Won would be a cool category to have. I don't believe that would be hard to code nor do I think it would take up that much more memory. But it would be cool to see who in the league has the most rings. |

I agree strongly with this. It's something I really miss from Catobase.

Agreed. I actually keep a spreadsheet of championships won. It helps with HOF voting for me.

In what way would it help? More championships means less chance of getting in?
This game generates many Yankee-like dynasties. If you have a team that wins ten championships in twelve years then you probably have a solid enough line-up that no one is getting pitched around. Runs and rbis are inflated. A guy who hits .300 lifetime with 400 homers, 1500 runs scored and 1500 rbis for a dynasty would be much less deserving of a spot in the Hall than a guy who put up the same numbers for a perennial second division club.

I let the stats determine most of the inductions. But as in all leagues there are guys playing in the late 1800's that started too old to accumulate classic stats. Lots of guys that only played 8-15 years. Eventually they were voted in by the Veterans' Committee or Old Timer's Commission... guys like Mordecai Brown, Dave Bancroft, Earl Combs. What's common with a lot of these guys is their post season success.
It's just another guide to use when trying to make an objective decision on a subject that is subjective in its very nature. Popularity, relation with media, and the eventuality of steroids have been, and always will be in the minds of voters. As much info as possible is always helpful when you need to "tip" the balance one way or another.
