Age Restrictions Not Working

I'm trying to set the age restrictions for a league to be between 20 and 25 years old, and every time I create a league the restrictions don't take effect. There's players of all ages like a normal league. Is there something I'm missing to restrict player ages?

After re-reading it does say "roster rules", does this mean no one can have players on their roster over 25, but they will still be created?

EDIT: Nope, that's not it. Players over 30 are playing actively on the team's roster.

Yeah, it's true. I've noticed this, too. Setting a maximum age does seem to lower the average age a bit, but I still get a few old fogies. The reason I want to set a maximum age is so I can have a league start "fresh". It feels a little phony to me to have an inaugural draft for a brand new league with 38 year old players with 15 years major league service time.

Do they all retire after the first year? I might as well do some tests to see what I can come up with, and hopefully someone can confirm that this is a broken feature or I'm just not understanding it right.

After the first season all players over 25 are gone from the league. Now we're stuck with a shortage of players

Well, you probably have the "roster rules" set to a maximum of 25, which means that all players will "retire" at 25. If that's the case, it's working as it should by doing that. I was talking about the "created players" maximum age, which seems to not work very well.

You're right on that. Didn't realize there were two different options. Now that I have both between 20-25, it is working properly.

League age restrictions do not work- and were removed altogether with the latest patch- as Markus said they weren't intended to in there in the fist place.

Created player ages work just fine for me- and always have.

The "created player age maximum" setting is not working for me. I'm setting it at 26, yet there are many players in their 30s.

When I make a league, are there players already created, before I set that age maximum? That is, does the age maximum I set only affect players created later? So I'd need to delete those initially created players, then re-create players for the league?

You need to set both maximum and minimum in order for the option to work properly.

That's not the case... they work properly in OOTP 8.

I was referring to the age limit settings for minor league affliates- I should have clarified that. Those never worked properly- and are not in the game any longer as far as I know.

You are correct. Personally, I wish these would have been included and worked properly. OOTP8 does a reasonable job of age management, but I like the idea of having the additional control of age levels in the minors.

I should of checked the boards sooner, because I was trying to set age limits at each of my minor league levels and couldn't find where, even though I could have sworn this option was in v8.

Any chance it will be making a comeback?
