I started a 1901 game early this evening and have been playing it until I was hit with the pitcher gets injured on the 3rd out in the ninth bug and the game wont advance. I tried everything including weird double switches but nothing works.
Why cant Markus make a quick patch for this? Could it really take more than an hour? Just dont allow the game to end on an injury..a meaningless switch could be made and the game completed.

And the only way to exit the game is to end the task in the task manager.

This has happened to many of us (myself included), but I thought I read somewhere on the forum that the issue had been addressed. If not - it definitely needs to be resolved for the upcoming release.

I had an instance recently where my pitcher was injured before the third out and the game froze. I'd assumed until then that the bug only manifested itself at the end of an inning. Anybody else seen this?

I sympathize: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ustrating.html
Glad to see it's on Markus's radar now.

UPS, I thought this was fixed in OOTP8--oh well, it is fixed in OOTP9...??????????? Wow, nice. I know I will be first in line to pre-order the new version.
Sir, you say you were hit from behind and your Pinto exploded, killing your wife and child----ups, we thought we fixed that problem---Oh well, it is fixed in this years model. Same time next year------Sir, you mean your new Pinto blew up just like your earlier one?? Well, look at this way, at least this time you had no passengers. Did I mention that we are taking pre-orders on the upcoming Pinto? Tons of new features and several new colors. What other car maker offers sooo many features. |

isn't it that you just hit the end game button, it is a little anoying that it takes you to that screen and doesn't let you do anything, but the normal end game button is still down in the corner for you to hit. The original poster didn't post that section of the screen but I know the few times I've run into this bug after trying a few things I found the button and was able to move on with the game.

Are you sure your fully patched, I know I've had this bug twice and both times I've been able to hit the end game button and I'm only using the 2007 version.

If it happens to me on the last out, I can hit the "LEAVE GAME" button at the bottom left. If you don't see it, you might want to try increasing your screen res for future games.
What is still getting me is that if it happens anywhere else in the middle of the game, it crashes to desktop about 95% of the time when trying to put in a sub for the injured pitcher. So if Markus claims that this bug is fixed in OOTP9, I hope it includes the crash to desktop pitcher injury sub bug as well. At least a few others have run into this and we've already posted several threads on it. Only time will tell if it survived into OOTP9. |

Also, I live in an area that has frequent power outages, and I know that it happened at least once earlier while playing my real game. So, before I left the house (no internet at home, I'm at library), I deliberately unplugged the computer while in my test league to simulate a power outage. I will try playing out games again later to see if that is a possible contributor, but so far only the date is different between the league that locks up EVERYTIME a pitcher is injured and the league that DOESN'T everytime a pitcher is injured. However, too small a sample size to be sure. Anyone else have any input?? I'm very interested in getting this fixed or figuring out a work around, becasue as far as I'm concerned this makes the game unplayable for me as I want to play out all of my games. Any further input appreciated. |

I swear I've seen this "bug" resolved, in fact during beta of OOTP2008. IIRC everything looked like you say but there was a button on the lower left-hand corner of the screen that said "End Game". It took me a couple minutes to find it since I wasn't looking for it but there it was.
As to the last poster's problem, I certainly have not had the game crash every time a pitcher gets hurt and I Eugene Church every game (meaning I sim it until the 7th and play it out from that point forward). Methinks your game got corrupted by one of those power outages.

In all due respect Markus, if this bug is still in OOTP8 then it should be fixed because it is a GAME STOPPER!
Never happened to me and I also bought OOTP9 but it's the principal of it. Markus, if you know the fix then you should really have it in a patch for OOTP8 to be fair to your customers. Just my opinion. |
