Hmm, perhaps I am unclear.

Nothing has been settled, other that this thread is going to be used to collect names for a league, and that a poll will be conducted, perhaps on Monday, to finalize a choice for league name.

The candidates for that poll will be names that I see in this thread. So far, I have seen a Federal League, Great American Baseball League, MorseMoose's ideas (which are very clever) and a Tahitian League.

Could the preset league just be set to 1900 so that we can create our own history? Just wondering...

Does OOTP 9 support multiple countries in a league? If so I'd suggest something with "World" in it.

He lost all his ID when his raft broke up on the reef surrounding the island. Amazingly in his preparation he hadn't learned about the reef and thought the island was volcanic like the Hawaiian Islands, nor had he considered that it was French-run and not American. My uncle had to fly there and essentially ransom him back. So any time anyone mentions Tahiti everybody in my family winces.

Before you ask, yes, my cousin was a major stoner.

Well, there are a few reasons as to why there will be a little history behind the league, which I won't go into. It's lawyer fodder stuff.

But, you can easily erase the history.

I have not decided what year to set this on. I imagine that there will be a poll for that.

1900 is a possibility, maybe 1946...I don't know.

As much as I like Tahiti, I think this league should be as accessible and attractive as possible to the widest possible range of players. As such, I think a U.S.-based league makes the most sense.

If you start in 1961 you bypass the whole integration thing, you can have financials off with the player being able to turn them on in 1977 or whenever he likes, and it gives you about fifty seasons to play before you get to the present.

Glad my thread "OUT OF THE BOX..." spawned the development team to create an "OUT OF THE BOX" quickstart league... for the majority of this community who do not have the time or the skills to get the experience this game can offer.
