2 leagues; 16 teams each; 2 divisions each.
One league in North America and the Carribean; the other in Asia and Europe. The World League of Baseball. If its been programmed into this iteration of the game, the World Baseball Classic could be included into this quickstart.

I'd be more for an only north america league setup (organized geographically). 6 teams per division, 2 subleagues, 2 rounds of playoffs, no interleague play, play division opponents more than nondivision, 150-162 game schedule. start right before the expansion era, and within 2-5 years of the leagues creation have the league increase by 1-2 teams per division (unless the user doesn't want it). All I'd hope for is a team called the "Chicago Black Sox" and mostly large markets represented. My leagues have always been called "Super League" or a variant of that, such as "Super Baseball League" or "Super Pro Baseball League", so throw those in the ring if anybody else agrees.

yeah, my current league on OOTP8 is Super League, so that is kosher. It's easy to abbreviate. (SL, SLAAA, SLRK, etc), I'm not quite awesome enough to name my subleagues, right now they're Super League 1 and Super League 2

maybe it's just me, but i think the general public that's not already into ootp would be more interested in a US based quick start. While I think the "world" idea is fine for some people, i would venture a guess that most fans could care less about having leagues outside of the US. I think SI forced this idea onto OOTP and it serves maybe 5% of the purchase base

It seems to me that the ideal demonstration quick-start would be the simplest possible configuration that still included some expression of every significant feature. |

I think if a league is fictional, it should try to be simple.
Heritage League Baseball Universe As sub-leagues you could name them Heinsohn League and Raht League and the MVP award could be the Battisti Award.

Yes, keep it simple, one contry, 1 league, no more than 30 teams, 2 or 3 levels of minors. trying to start to big is what keeps scaring the noobs aways and causes crashes in the game. it also leads to projects like this not getting done or being rushed. it can be added to later if needed.

Now that I think about it. The league "name" may depend on the start date of the quickstart. A more classic sounding name like "Heritage League" or "American Baseball League" may be more appropriate for a league that starts pre-1950, while a name such as "Baseball Universe" or "Universal Baseball Association" as a more contemporary one.

If a 24-team league is too large, then cut the above in half and have a 12-team league divided into two 6-team divisions. The advantage of such an alignment is that there are plenty of real-world 162-game schedules available for such a league to use. Alternatively, a 142-game minor league schedule is also available.

Well, maybe not if it is some bizarre hard-to-work-with configuration like say the current MLB 5-5-4/5-6-5.

I like the "OOTP Community League."
Then, you could go to the online community and get the best teams from each league and include them in the game. (I'm talking about fictional leagues of course. Like the TTBL and my Kansas City Tornadoes could be one.) This way, you'd already have the uniforms for most teams already made. Plus, you'd have sort of a history already made too. Just my 2 . But if you use this idea, I would like my Tornadoes to be one of the teams. My Tornadoes have won their division every year and won a World Series too.
