I hesitate to phase the question in this manner, so I beg your forgiveness in advance, but how weird or uncommon is your name? Is it even possible for the game to generate your name?

Not if they're new to OOTP in the first place, which I understand is the primary "audience" for an "out of the box" quick-start.

Leaving out a demo of the capability for international teams would make as much sense as leaving out a demo of the capability for farm teams, or financials, or scouting. You can play OOTP without using one or more of these capabilities. Some people don't use any of them. But it would be strange, and counter-productive, for a built-in demonstration to ignore any of them.

My name isn't so much weird as uncommon enough not to be put in the csv. No big deal since I added it anyways on my copy.

One other name suggestion:

American Baseball Conference ( ABC )

or substitute Congress for Conference.


And to further complicate matters, why not contemplate an historical quick-start with proper unis, logos, STADII, etc.? 1901 would seem the best start year, but any of the candidate seasons from 1946 backwards would seem a decent choice.

A proper historical quickstart would have to come from a fan in order to have logos, unis, and other items that have graphical content that would be under some sort of legal protection.

Baseball can't copyright the data, that much is fairly settled law in the USA. Organized Baseball can copyright the logos and other trade dress. Plus, players retain rights to their images. So, these items would have to be avoided without a lot of money changing hands.
