Depth Chart question

So, in the following image, you'll see my depth chart. I want to know how the OF positions are handled in regards to backups.

For LF and RF, the 1st backup is Kirkland, the second is Gaines. Both are set to only start if the starting LF or RF is tired. So...

Say that the LF (Bowens) is tired, but his backup Kirkland is also tired. Does Gaines get the start?

Now, look at the CF setup.

In essence, what I am trying to find out is this - what does the term "If Starter Tired.." mean for the 2nd utility man? Does 'starter' in this instance refer to the backup, or to the original starter?

That could all be very confusing, I know.

I think that option is for when several players on your team need an offday. For example, if backup OFer number one has to make a spot start in RF, but your LFer needs a day off too, the second guy starts.
