just thought I would post a link to a pretty cool site by David Pinto, a writer for the sporting news, called BaseballMusings.com where he does some really nice statistical research and also has a really cool DB that you can search thru different dates and time periods to get stats
http://www.baseballmusings.com/cgi-bin/CompareInfo.py For instance, you could set the start date to 3/1/05 and the end date to 5/8/08, select homeruns, and home games--- You then will get the leaders for that time period. For the criteria I specified, Alex Rodriguez is the ML Leader with 74 HR's at home, followed by Adam Dunn 69, Ryan Howard 66, Paul Konerko 66 and Alfonso Soriano 63. There are numerous categories and endless possibilities to look up. I thought it would be very useful for seeing how players match up over a given period of time in OOTP versus their real life counterparts... Also has a lineup analysis where it estimates runs scored based on you entering players, oba and slugging percentage for various combinations of lineups...would be pretty cool to see how it works with OOTP Last edited by Matter2003; 05-07-2008 at 08:03 PM. |
