Non-English Character Compatibility on Macs

This had come up in the general Mac thread, but wasn't getting much attention, so I figured I'd isolate it in the hopes we'd get an answer.

Will the problem of as LLN puts it, 'being able to name our players François Weiß-Núñez', (or for that matter, just plan Juan Núñez) be fixed?

I do not anticipate an answer prior to release.

However, I'm hoping that this *has* been addressed.

I'd like to order up, and would prefer the Mac version. You'll end up with two pre-orders out of me if someone can just check this and let us know.

Probably not worth the $20 net (or whatever) that LLN and I will provide, but you never know...

In another thread, Markus told me he didn't know and told me to PM Andreas Raht. I did so a few days ago, and haven't gotten an answer yet. I was going to post here as soon as I got an answer.

He can be slow to answer PM's. I think he's up to his neck in stuff to do right now between OOTP and TBCB, so he may not check the board often.

You're right. He's probably buried.

That being said, I have never received a response from a PM to Andreas, regardless of situation or time. I would be very pleasantly surprised to see an answer to LLN before release.

*That* being said, are there no Mac beta testers? Can it possibly be allowed by Markus or any other powers that be to answer this simple question?

I suppose it doesn't really matter much. It saves me a whopping $15. It also nets OOTP two orders (one Mac and one PC) versus only one or perhaps none.

I'm really loving the features list, but if the program doesn't function properly on the Mac, then there's no reason to buy it.

Depends on what your 100% is.

I don't think this is supported yet, but the gameplay is identical to the PC version.

Sort of. In game it's working just fine (meaning there are characters that show properly).

Unfortunately, unless you have a workaround, LLN, I can't figure out how to input city names, team names, player names from my computer that work in game.

Does that make sense?

I just tried it, it works fine!

Of course, I have a custom keyboard map because I type accents very frequently, when I speak French. However, if you try certain key combinations (alt+_), you're likely to get various symbols, including accents. I don't know what they are exactly, but they exist, maybe there's a reference chart somewhere.
