I am a beta. Those are the best times if you want continuity, and I explained why.
I'll add further that if you do it after the playoffs, then you get the better AI FA stuff. If you wait until preseason, you miss all that and are relying on ootp8, which is inferior. If you go before the playoffs, as I mentioned - and I think this will be by far the best unless you are in the playoffs and don't want to fart around - before the playoffs utilizes ootp9's better AI transaction code for contract negotiations. It's either/or. Or do it immediately when you get the game as Markus says. Perhaps you'll run around trying to figure out what the hell has changed and not like that. No big deal. You just go back and finish it out in ootp8 and then convert whenever you want. There are many ways to please everyone. |

I've been thinking about this and I think I am going to convert on opening day. There is just something about starting a new version of OOTP with a new season. I sim week by week, so, I'll be able to feel the full effects of the game soon enough.
