Uh, unless I misread things, he's only offering to do that for StyxNCa as a special favor. That's all.

Boy, somebody's cranky today.

Markus told me he increased the lineup boxes plus the bullpen slots. It isn't just for me.

I don't warrant such personal attention.

Totally off topic, but since Comedian has more posts than me, do I have to change my avatar?

Let me ask this, along a similar line ...

I've noticed this when playing out a game -- I've pinch-hit for my pitcher, and after the inning is done, the game takes me to the substitution screen so I can replace him with a new pitcher.

I try to have two pitchers warming up much of the time, so I can pick depending on the situation. The problem is, the game won't let me leave that substitution screen to go check out the opponent's lineup to see who the next 3-4 batters are (and whether they are lefty or righty). I can see the next guy and that's it (bottom right side of the page inside the mini game box).

Is there something I'm missing? I remember in the older versions I could jump around screens and then come back to my sub page to finalize who I was sending out there. But OOTP8 at least won't let me leave the sub screen until I make the sub. I sometimes have to leave the pinch-hitter in as a pitcher, leave to see the other's team lineup, then come back to make the real change. That's not a problem, but suddenly my back-up outfielder or whatever has pitching stats recorded into his history...

just curious -- thanks... by the way i ordered OOTP9 today

Let's see. Yours, and his.

Yours: smoother, but smaller. Lacking the Old English D on the ballcap, for some reason. Pirated? Looks runty.

His: a bit grainy, but that wild-eyed look! Larger resolution allows more detail, provoking more interest in the subject. Just who is this crazy looking tiger? He reaches out and grabs ahold of you, and you just need to know his story.

Finding: Comedian keeps his avatar. Hammy, look for another one. I have some old Yankees stuff to tide you over until you find something suitable.

Before I am accused of threadjacking, I figured I better answer this. No, you cannot go back to the game via the Broadcast or Webcast screens until you have made the substitution, but I have found that you can click on and view the opponents Substitution screen. There, you can see who is due up next on the opposing side. Then go back to your Substitution screen and make the proper change before resuming the game.

Cool, thanks for the info ... now everyone can continue with the regularly scheduled topics in this thread...

I, for one, appriciate the difficulties in making an undo ability here. While I have, on occasion, dropped a sub into the wrong place--it happens most often when I'm making a double-switch-with-a-third-substitution, but also can be just a matter of dropping a pinch-hitter into the slot above or below where I intended--I'm fairly sure that once the player is dropped, the change is actually made. Entries go into the player's data, the game's record, the box score, everywhere. Boom. It's all done. And the screen positions we see might even be tied to the database, meaning the drop directly changes the databases' records.

To make the steps undo-able, he'd have to buffer everything ... a linked-list-kinda thing that held the moves until verified, untying the screen position from the database ... mein Gott, it'd be almost a complete rewrite of the sub screen. OOTP10 indeed.

Fixed that for you. And you're right, he has not earned the honor of using my old Yankees avatars. Nor has he offered to pay for them so far. Let me check my e-mail again.

(I'm glad I made your day, though. You make mine every time I see your thumb mood icons instead of those multi-colored smiley and frowney faces.)

I believe the larger slots will help out. With the small ones it wasn't difficult to drop someone into the wrong box. All it took was the slightest mouse movement just as you were ready to drop them.
