My advice find a way to install XP (or whatever you had before). Then, just to make sure find a priest who can perform an exorcism on your computer.

No Problems with Vista here...
I haven't had any problems getting on the internet. To be honest I had more troubles with XP. Not saying I disliked XP, actually the opposite. I really liked XP and was scared to death to use Vista. Now that I have used both I think it is about equal. To be honest I am more worried about them releasing yet another operating system. I am just getting used to Vista and I kind of get tired of the technology race it seems like we have to run to keep up. But with all that said I really doubt that you will have many problems with Vista and will get used to it in short time.

Ok, I figured out how to run in administartor. Right-click on the icon, then click on run as administrator. All good.
Loaded my first program. Now for all those that say its just like XP after you get rid of that annoying pop-up, please help. Because in XP when I installed a program, it let me direct which directory to install to. Not so here. Or at least not so that I could figure out. The screen that usually comes up giving me the chance to change installation directories never came up, just started installing. Ok, so I'm thinking I can live with that. But now, I can't FIND WINDOWS EXPLORER!. WTF??? NO!!!! I'm lost without my windows explorer.Ok, ok, I calm down, figure I'll learn to live without that too. So, I click on Computer, click on C Drive. Find all sorts of nice little directories. BUT NONE OF THEM HAVE MY JUST INSTALLED GAME!!!! ![]() How do I add custom additions like logos/unis/ etc. IF I CAN'T EVEN FIND OUT WHERE THE **** ITS INSTALLED TO? ![]() Aaarrrghhh, I knew I'd hate this monstrousity. WTF was wrong with XP anyhow? For that matter, WTF was wrong with Windows 95/98/2000/ME?? ![]() Ok, ok, calm down I say to myself. Calm down. Now I say to anyone out there. HELP! PLEASE. Pretty Please.

The game itself will have installed into a folder of the same name in the Programs folder on your C: drive. It is possible that this is hidden by default, I can't remember. I can check when I get home if you still can't find it. Not sure why you didn't have the option to install to a custon location - I would assume that you still can on Vista (its not something I tend to do personally, so I'm not certain). |

I was pretty sure most of the bad talk about Vista was either hardware issues, or overblown, but I was still a little nervous about ordering my new (work) computer with it.
It's been a few weeks now and I'm very happy so far. It's already a little hard to go back to an XP computer. If your having any troubles, or interested in tweaking things a little bit I recommend reading Ed Bott's articles: Ed Bott’s Windows Expertise | News and advice for a Windows-centric world Ed Bott’s Microsoft Report | ZDNet.com |

I remember Ed Bott. He wrote those giant "Using Microsoft Office XXXX" books that I always intended to read cover to cover and never got past Chapter 3 or so. Anyway, more stuff for my Vista contingency plan archive! Thanks.

All my old games (going back a decade or more) run fine on Vista (and StarCraft, which I couldn't ever get to run on XP, runs fine). None of my other programs give me problems. Vista, as I said, just seems to be the same as XP with slightly different file sorting parameters, different search parameters, and more resource hogging. Just make sure to rock 2 gigs of RAM and you're pretty much all set.

I just recently got a Vista PC and I actually really like Vista. It makes XP seem so stale. I love the way the folders look and the way that the interface is so much more alive. Sure, its tough to learn a new system, but we all learn new computer games and in the end we are better off for it.

Go to your Start Menu, Documents, Sports Interactive (or OOTP8, whatever version you have) and there is the game files.
Not that difficult, just have to first discover that Vista uses the My Documents/Pictures/types of folders more often than XP did.
