OOTP 9 I have the game/Impressions thread

Rather than bogging the forum down with like dozens of different one line posts of "This feature is great!" "This feature sucks!" "XXX doesn't work how it should", etc.... I think it would be best if everyone just threw their game impressions in here rather than starting a new thread on it ...

So everyone who is playing or has the game, thoughts? What do you like, what do you not like? Any surprises?

Dish it!

I'm at work and am downloading back home, but I'll have to live vicariously for the next several hours.

I would have to disagree with your original sentiment, simply because individual threads for individual issues is exactly the reason we have a forum.

putting all issues in one thread kind of defeats the purpose.

having one thread for "initial impressions" or "how do you like it so far", sure - but one thread for all issues?

Well, yeah I meant more so for impressions of the game rather than immediate things that are technical/support related.

at this point it looks like this thread is more of "duck, your first impressions"

The duck is the logo of PISD, the company that makes some of the libraries that the game is developed against. I think (?) only Mac users used to see it, but now it's on the boot screen of the game.

I don't care for the duck. It's too mechanical looking.

The ball animation is cool, but it sucks that the player pictures dissapear during the play.

I'm enjoying it so far, still some AI strangeness, but that's to be expected. I mean, I know the Yankees love to spend, but giving Josh Phelps a 7 year contract worth 82+ million after a season in which Phelps only started 60 games and put up an OPS Under .800 is a bit much :P
