Individual Game?

Ok of course I just got it today and confess I've been too busy to look at it much yet. But I recall reading where it would be possible to simply choose two teams like maybe the 55 Dodgers against the 61 yankees and play out a game. It said it could now be done without going through all the hassle of setting up a league. And there's not yet a manual to find out. And I couldn't see how this can be done. Can anyone help?

Yes, you do have to have a league set up, but it's really easy to import historical teams and play exhibition games.

You can set up the simplest league imaginable (a 4-team fictional league with no minors) in about 30 seconds using the wizard. Then, once it's started, go back to the Game Setup menu and click on the League Setup tab. From there, choose "Edit League Structure" and you can import as many historical teams from whatever years you want!

Once the '55 Dodgers and '61 Yankees are imported, you can click on the baseball icon in the top menu and choose "Play Exhibition Game".

I just did this as a quick test and watched Pee Wee Reese hit a HR off Whitey Ford!

"Beings will come, Frodo. The one constant through all the years has been baseball. Middle Earth has rolled by like an army of Mumakil. It has been erased like a slate, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Frodo. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... beings will come Frodo. Beings will most definitely come." - Gladden Field of Dreams
