Uploading league from OOTP8 - slow

hello, just installed the game (thankfully no problems) ... just wondering how long an import from a previous OOTP8 game is supposed to take? ... it's just spinning and spinning for 10+ minutes (so far) with nothing else going on ... thanks

Well I have a pretty slow computer (4 years old, 2.4 GHz P4, 512 Megs of RAM). It does take pretty long. I mean, it took me about 30-45 mins to import my OOTP 8 league....granted my league has 103 years of history (LOL), but I just went take a shower and watched tv until it was finished. I'm playing it right now with not one problem so far (thank God!).

A few threads on that already. If you have almanacs, player pictures and a lot of text and html files, it will take a while. Take them off, it'll take seconds.

UPDATE: it works!! just took awhile ...

now, how well my managing skills work is another story ...
