It was OK in the Text Database. There was a space between team name and the player's name.

It must have been a token conversion problem. Markus will have to fix that.

I used another token for the team name. The original used two tokens, one for the team city and another for the team nickname. We'll see if that makes any difference.

Hi, I was just wondering, since this seems to be a project outside of what Markus is doing, if you plan to offer this as a separate fix. Or will it be included in the next patch. And since you've done a humongous amount of work and it's apparantly already much improved, if you plan to offer this periodically. Just asking because for me the pbp is a big part of the game. Thanks. I really appreciate what you're doing.

Nope, I am on the Beta Team. It is not a separate project. I just thought it would be helpful for the Community to help proof the PBP and News. There are far more of you than the few Beta members we have. tysok and pstrickert have done most of the work on the PBP, a great job I might add. I have helped them by offering new suggestions to add to the variety in the PBP, but mainly worked on the News portion. I don't write for the Injuries, Finances or Scouting, only Game News and League News, plus career stats descriptions and season stats descriptions.

When Markus releases a patch, it should includes the latest Text Database. battists tries to make sure it is updated with each patch.

So the errors that you guys are posting will be fixed in the next patch, if I fixed them correctly and if Markus fixed the Hard-Code errors.

I intend to continue to work on the News Stories and add some new ones. For instance, I wrote two more Hall of Fame induction stories, using Dick Williams' and Goose Gossage's words. I intend to go through all of the League News and Games News stories and proof them again. Also will refine them and rework some of them.

I don't know if this counts as an error in pbp, but...

At least every three games, if not more often, there is an infield hit due to no one covering first base. I want to hold drills so my players can learn something they should have picked up in little league. I assume this is happening because the pbp is set for this to come up too often for infield hits (which I feel happen way to often in the game, but that's another story).

I checked it in the Text Database and it has the correct tokens. I changed it to an alternate token [%personlink l], just in case the first one doesn't work in that news category.

If the original token [%personname l] is a problem, there will be a lot of them showing up as that token is used often.

[%personlink l] and [%personname l] are the last name of a player. The only difference is one has a link to it.

It is the same news story with a different season totals description. There are two different categories used, Batter of the Year and Season Description.

This is the same problem as the last one. There are two different tokens used, one should convert to the first and last name, the other should convert only to the last name. But for some reason it is giving the name of another player.

Markus will have to fix this.

Does the PBP say that no one covered first?

Like you say, this sounds like a frequency problem. I'll give it to the PBP experts, tysok and pstrickert.

It looks like it is programmed to happen far too much.

The PBP tells you all the details, so there is no problem there.

Nothing wrong with it. It is just very short, succinct and to the point.

He just doesn't want to be away from his family for six months for the baseball season and miss seeing his kids grow up, so he just retired.

The retirement stories could use some reworking and expansion. Same thing for injuries.

But I don't know much about writing news stories for that area of the news. Retirement, injuries, scouting and contracts are not my areas of expertise.

If I post I dup, apologies. I find it odd, in the first inning, that game should choose the option to say a team has a chance to start a rally. For that matter, any inning before the 4th or 5th, roughly, and I assume the team would always be trailing.

In any event, the first inning seems too early for this mention, FWIW.

I agree.

I'll have to find out if this is Hard-Coded by Markus. If it is, only he can fix it.
