It's definitely not a text problem, news or pbp. Repost it in tech support and see if someone else can help out.

I would suggest that 'A playoff baseball game "has" a surreal atmosphere '; sounds better than "is" a surreal atmosphere.

"Ortiz is around third and heading for home.. Suzuki leans, tags.. Drew is safe"
Should say Ortiz is safe, considering the throw went to homeplate and not to second base, Drew was running to second. |

I don't think this one has been reported yet.
Message Type: News Subject: Player blitzes Team 1st paragraph - "... and giving his bullpen a rest by going the the distance." An extra "the"

I don't think this is in the Text Database. tysok will know. It looks like the wrong token was used for "Anaheim". It should have been for "Angels". Or the token may not be converting correctly. |

ID 21499: "[%subleaguename] Suspends [%personname#1 l] and [%personname#2 l] for Fisticuffs "
For some reason when I see this article in the game, it says " Suspends [Player #1's name] and [Player #1's name] for Fisticuffs." That is, it doesn't fill in a subleague name. Not sure if maybe that subleaguename token is wrong or what.

I've noticed this on multiple occasions, but I took it as a design decision due to the unusual (I'm being kind by using the word "unusual" here) team name situation. The game uses "Los Angeles Angels of" as the location and "Anaheim" as the team name. I'd assume that there's no easy way for the game to use "Los Angeles" as the location, "Angels" as the team name and add an "of Anaheim" every time it's used.

We already knew the subleagueabbr token (NL, AL) wasn't working. I guess I will have to remove any reference to a specific league and just replace it with a generic "league". That should fix it. Thanks for posting this error. Last edited by Eugene Church; 07-07-2008 at 02:20 PM. |
