Oh man oh man :(
So in the ABA i created my brother in a draft pool class and he was a catcher. Now in 1968 (I'm not playing as a manager cause I'm waiting for me to retire.) He just fractured his knee for a career ending injury. He was pretty damn good for a catcher...one of the best hitters in the league. 11 time all start 4 time gold glove, 2 time MVP. He was the top batting prospect in the draft where I changed his name, I did edit him to a catcher, but other than that he was a product of two convenient talent bumps (never noticed/seen that type of stuff in OOTP8) in its year and a half in the minor leagues and progressed very quickly. I didn't expect to see his names on the leader board in 1958 (using the 5 year sim one) and there he was already. Crazy. Now he's done, too early compared to me his older brother who is now 38 who just hits line drives and only has warning track power. My guy is the career leader in hits at 3455 and has 355 home runs and 2 world series rings. My brother did get one world series two seasons ago so at least he got all that.
Anyway here's his career, injuries are obviously on, but this is some serious durability for a catcher. I'm not sure if OOTP correctly ages catchers unless Austen here got the Mike Piazza career path (minus the knee issue at 33) |

kind of odd though, did OOTP just whack him or what? He averaged 30 HR a season for 10 years and then the year he got hurt he had 1 in 129 at bats... Almost wonder if he was playing hurt and didn't tell anyone and then it got worse?

I do like this though, my player has always been a slow starter, hot finisher... I don't have the career splits, but from the top of my head I bet he's a .700 OPS hitter in April/May and 1.1-1.2 OPS player in August/September. Its fun to watch him creep into the leader boards in mid July and then stomp people by time September comes... Its going to be sad when he retires in a season or two, but then my GM/manager career begins!

He was doing very well with hitting triples until the knee injury.
